In the late xxxxs, a jade-blooded troll known as the Dolorosa smuggled a hemotype-mutant grub out of the brooding caverns. This troll, who would later be known as the Signless, was the first major revolutionary the Condesce would contend with. His counter-Imperial, anti-hemospectrum message resonated with a great many lowbloods, and his philosophy gained enough support among the populace that the Empress herself intervened, ordering his execution.
Although the Signless received aid from trolls planet-wide, his core group of followers consisted of the Dolorosa (who took on the role of his lusus), a yellow-blooded psionic, and an olive-blood who called herself the Disciple. The Disciple was instrumental in spreading the teachings of the Signless, diligently recording his sermons. Her collected records, which would become known as the Book of the Sufferer, were duplicated and spread in secret after the execution of the Signless. The scribbled conversation between the Signless, Disciple, and Psiioniic found on the back of this pamphlet sheds new light on what scholars have long believed was an extreme example of radically flushed matespritship between the Signless and Disciple.
From the quirk swapping, notably more common in pre-instant message times when quirks were more fluid than they are today, but still considered a sign of general affection, it would usually be inferred that a stable concupiscent quadrant had been formed. What leaves many sociologists baffled is the fact that there are three participants in what can only be a flushed quadrant. Many trolls juggle many different partners over the course of their lifetimes, but to see such equal amounts of pity in what has been historically considered a stable flushed ship indicates that the Signless might have been even more radical than originally thought. Was the Signless even capable of stability? A rare surviving artifact from pre-revolutionary Alternia, this text is thought to be one of the earliest records of the Disciple's writing. This text suggests that she was an illiterate feral when she first joined the Signless, but her skills at writing advanced rapidly. A translation can be viewed here for non-trolls.

Although known to the Empire for his dangerous philosophies, the Signless and his closest followers were infamous among gossip-mongers for their quadrant-blurring. This quilt was likely crafted by the Dolorosa as a giftt to the Psiioniic. The precise piecing and diamond detailing emphasize the classically pale nature of the piece.
The Signless's followers smeared concupiscent quadrants as well as conciliatory. A translation is available here.
